PHP Adult Transition & Services Fair

The fair is co-sponsored by PHP and it’s Parents of Adult Children with Developmental Disabilities (PACDD) group, the Santa Clara County Office of Education (SCCOE), and supported by Fremont Union High School District (FUHSD), Milpitas Unified School (MUSD), and San Andreas Regional Center (SARC). This year’s fair is anticipated to provide students and parents from SCCOE Special Education high school and post senior classes and alternative schools, SARC clients, district special education personnel and transition classes, students 16+ and parents connected with all SELPA programs, and PHP members access to more than 80 agencies and resources.

The Special Needs Resource Fair

The Joint Santa Clara County CACs (Community Advisory Committees for Special Education) will be hosting this free event for families of children with disabilities growing out of their school years. This transitional time into adulthood raises a lot of new concerns and the need for new resources. What are options with continuing education? Is there affordable housing? What vocational training suits my child? Is there a housing situation that will fit their needs? Are there day programs that will fit their needs? What support is there for finding jobs? What legal maneuvers are best for my child’s needs? What do I need to know about Adult Transition for my child? Is there more my service providers can do for us?
