Post-Secondary Transition Fair

Saturday, November 17th
Henry T. Gunderson High School
622 Gaundabart Lane
San Jose, CA 95136
The Joint Santa Clara County CACs (Community Advisory Committees for Special Education) will be hosting this free event for families of children with disabilities growing out of their school years. This transitional time into adulthood raises a lot of new concerns and the need for new resources. What are options with continuing education? Is there affordable housing? What vocational training suits my child? Is there a housing situation that will fit their needs? Are there day programs that will fit their needs? What support is there for finding jobs? What legal maneuvers are best for my child’s needs? What do I need to know about Adult Transition for my child? Is there more my service providers can do for us?

Resources throughout Santa Clara County and the State including the following breakout sessions:

  • Adult Transition – SARC
  • Conservatorship, Trusts and the Trend Toward Supported Decision Making – Special Needs Planning Group
  • Navigating Adult Life in This Age of Technology – EvoLibri

Please make sure you register here if you plan to attend the breakout sessions.
