LSA is very excited to announce our virtual summer speaker series, I/DD Topics, and Trends. Every Thursday at 6:30 pm PST, from June 24th-July 29th, LSA will feature a professional within the I/DD community. 

Through many unique topics, attendees will learn and get invaluable insight into the processes for helping their developmentally disabled loved ones plan for the future and live life to the fullest. LSA’s Executive Director, Dana Hooper, will join our speakers in an engaging fireside chat and provide insight from their experience serving the community. Attendees joining us for this live event will be able to ask questions live.

Every I/DD individual deserves to live in a positive, supported living housing environment that he or she can flourish. However, it’s not that simple. There are countless problems and obstacles that families with I/DD constantly face. Learn more from Ashley where she will identify obstacles in the community, advise how to overcome these obstacles, and explain her dedicated work and advocacy in this area.


The Lens of Neurodiversity: Paving a Path for Life

Kim Schreiber is the Founder of NeuroNav, which helps provide support to those with developmental disabilities to find their right pathway for their life. Hear from Kim as she explains how to pave the right path and plan for each IDD individual that is focused on person-centered thinking and independence. She also will cover some simple steps to be an advocate and normalize developmental disability inclusion, awareness, and advocacy in society.


Key Trends in I/DD Housing and How Its Changed

Desiree Kameka Galloway, Director of Autism Housing Network – July 29th, 6:30 – 7:30PM

Learn from Desiree about the latest trends in the I/DD housing industry and how these trends may have changed recently as a result of COVID-19, and how it is looking going forward in a post COVID-19 world. She will also cover the best practices and for service providers and explain the national issues that arise due to the housing crisis.
